About Us
The quality of what you put into your body is important. We know chewing on plastic, nylon, or rubber is not good for us, so why give that to your pets? Every year we are becoming more and more conscious of the quality of what goes into our bodies - your dog deserves the same treatment. This exact train of thought is what led us to creating Mad Dawg Rack Snacks; providing the healthiest, most natural chew a dog could ask for.
So Why Chose Elk Antlers?
For quite literally millions of years elk and their ancestors have been shedding antlers and carnivores have been chewing on them; the same wolves your dog is descended from is no exception. It is instinctual for a dog to chew on an antler. Why? Well each antler is chocked full of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, many that may be lacking in the animals normal diet.
Our antlers are as close to their original form as they can be - no additives, preservatives, or flavoring; Truly All Natural
But why specifically Elk Antlers? We have found that overall strength, size, and quality of Elk antler to be the best option; not only for our dogs, but for our customers. Deer antlers are more often than not, much thinner and more brittle than elk; and Moose antlers are hard to come by in the mountains of New Mexico.
The Benefit
Calcium – Good for overall bone, muscle, and digestive health
Magnesium – Supports heart, liver, and gut health
Phosphorus – Important for your dog’s teeth and metabolism
Protein – Helps maintain muscle strength and supports tissue repair
With antlers essentially being a harder, denser version of bone, they also have the added benefit of cleaning your dog’s teeth as they chew—kind of like a natural toothbrush.
Antlers won’t tear up a dog’s gut like rawhide, don’t stink when chewed, and won’t put microplastics into their system like regular synthetic chew toys.
The Man, the Myth, the Mascot. Mongo is a 12 year old Wire-haired Dachshund. He is the face of the brand and truly the reason for its creation.
Our childhood was spent on a ranch in New Mexico at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Shed hunting, fishing, hiking and camping were staple activities growing up. Mongo came around initially as a working dog, born to track wounded animals on a hunt. We soon noticed his proclivity towards chewing on the antlers of elk and deer, then the lightbulb went off. It was only recently that we decided we should share this product with the rest of the world. Mongo deserves the best, and your dog does too.
Mad Dawg Rack Snacks is a small, family owned business. Run by two brothers in Canyon, Texas.
