Whole Vs. Split:
While both options accomplish the same thing, they do have some differences.
Split antlers have direct access to the “marrow” which softens up considerably once your dog begins chewing on it, making splits perfect for puppies and older dogs.
It is also recommended to get a split for your dog if it is the first antler they have had. The easier access to the marrow can be more enticing for your dog.
With whole antlers you get a longer lasting chew as your dog will have to work at the antler substantially longer to get all the marrow out. We recommend wholes for dogs already familiar with antler chews.

Note: You should always monitor your dog while they have an antler. After continuous use your chew will get smaller and must be discarded before becoming a choking hazard.
